Services

Dry Eye Assessment

You can simply call in and request a dry eye assessment. We can take referrals from GPs and other opticians whose patients have tried a number of treatments without success. We will devise an individual plan to suit your needs.

Your appointment will last around 30-45 minutes with the Optometrist. Dry eye assessment is not funded by the NHS. We will take a detailed history and symptoms, use fluorescein sodium to assess the tear film quality and ocular surface, assess the underside of the eyelids, assess the eyelid margin and the orifices of the meibomian glands, assess the tear ducts, assess your blink rate and response, assess your tear break-up time (TBUT), assess your tear meniscus and make recommendations for treatment/management.

Contact Lens Clinic

We fit contact lenses to both new and existing contact lens wearers. We offer a wide selection of lenses, both soft lenses and RGPs. Your contact lens trial involves a full history and symptoms, ocular examination as well as discussion about your expectations and requirements. The options available would then be explained and a trial pair fitted in your eyes.

In total this takes up three appointments and is then followed by a later appointment to teach you how to insert the lenses and remove them.

Our contact lenses vary in price and we offer various schemes regarding payment to suit your needs.

Free Glasses for Kids and Teens

We offer a comprehensive choice of children's eyewear, most of which are totally free with an NHS optical voucher. We also have a range of designer eyewear just for children starting at just £30.

Visual Stress Testing

Visual stress is a term used to describe visual discomfort and perceptual distortions in printed text, and is suffered by many people who struggle to read. The condition is estimated to be present in approximately 40% of poor readers and 20% of the general population.

Many thousands of individuals who find reading tiring and unpleasant, unknowingly experience visual stress. They have to work harder than their peers to achieve the same outcomes, often with extra tuition. Many could be helped by overlays or Precision Tinted Lenses.

You can request a visual stress test with our optometrist which lasts around 30-45 minutes.
